Harry Potter the Satanic Pagan Wiccan Warlocking Witch (Whatever)

With the new movie out, I've been seeing a lot of the "anti-Harry Potter" garbage be revisited. This is, I think, the best quote I've seen about the "Harry Potter is evil and teaches children to be Pagan Whores" debate yet:

"In general, I think it is a crime to tell children there is no magic. It’s like telling them there is no Santa Claus. Life will be hard enough as they get older; we don't need to take their joy away from them so harshly." (article)

The article is overall good, it does mischaracterize Paganism a bit but that's ok. I don't care about semantics.

There's nothing wrong with Harry Potter. It's fun. It's teaching kids to read not to practice witchcraft and cast spells. It's a fictional book (as Rob Schenider said about something unrelated in a sketch on SNL, "They're just words. If I sing 'Please Mr. Postman' you won't go out and deliver the mail will you?"). Why do kids understand that when adults don't?

This quote is good to:

"Intolerance was never Christ’s teachings, quite the opposite. He saved those from being stoned to death by saying that those without sin may cast the first stone. No one was without sin, of course."

A lot of Christians need to remember that!

Anyway, you can't teach someone to be a Pagan Whore. That has to come naturally. {eg}
